Live Music Every Thursday from 6 to 9 PM
From Thursday April 19, we will be showcasing the talents of two local musicians: Sitar Player Bryan Sonday along with Pratik Singh on the Tabla.
The Sitar is a plucked stringed instrument predominantly used in Eastern Classical Music, where it has been ubiquitous since the Middle Ages. It derives its resonance from sympathetic strings, a long hollow neck and a gourd resonating chamber.
The Tabla is a popular percussion instrument used in Eastern Classical Music. It consists of a pair of hand drums of contrasting sizes and timbres. Playing technique involves extensive use of the fingers and palms in various configurations to create a wide variety of different sounds.
Bryan Sonday has been playing music for over 16 years on guitar, double bass, banjo, and now focuses on sitar. He has been studying Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music for several years.
Pratik Singh has been playing music for over 18 years on tabla & guitar. He has been studying Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music for over 15 years. A self-taught guitarist and a passionate tabla player, Pratik loves experimenting with different styles of music and is always up for a jam!
